DRIVE Electric Arizona Launching Northern Arizona Chapter
DRIVE Electric Arizona is pleased to announce the formation of DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona (DENA), a new regional chapter bringing electric vehicle owners, enthusiasts, community leaders and organizations together across Northern Arizona.
DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona will serve a large and diverse territory stretching from Flagstaff and Williams north to the Grand Canyon and Page, south to Sedona and the Verde Valley, and east along Historic Route 66 through Winslow and Holbrook.
To make sure this expansive region has strong local leadership, DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona will be led by three co-chairs—one representing each of three geographically distinct areas: Coconino County, the Route 66 communities, and Verde Valley.
Together, the three co-chairs will help build one connected Northern Arizona EV community while ensuring that events, partnerships and priorities reflect the needs and opportunities of each part of the region.

Each of DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona’s three areas will kick off with its own sponsored launch event this fall, giving EV owners, community leaders, businesses and residents across Northern Arizona an opportunity to get involved close to home.
September 19 — Coconino County
Centennial Route 66 Flagstaff Ride & Drive
Historic Downtown Flagstaff
These three events will introduce DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona throughout the region and begin building the volunteer network that will power the chapter going forward.
Bringing Northern Arizona Together
DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona will bring EV owners and enthusiasts together with community leaders, educational institutions, EV dealerships, businesses, utilities and tourism destinations to increase understanding of electric vehicles and help support the development of the EV infrastructure Northern Arizona needs.
The chapter will also build a network of local volunteers who can share their real-world experience with EVs and help educate and advocate for electric transportation throughout the region.
This grassroots approach is at the heart of DRIVE Electric Arizona: people who actually drive electric vehicles talking with people who want to learn more about them.
The three-co-chair structure will help DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona maintain the grassroots character across a territory encompassing very different communities—from Flagstaff and the high country to Historic Route 66 and the communities of the Verde Valley.
Events Across Northern Arizona
Following the three fall launch events, DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona plans to create an active calendar throughout its territory, including EV Rallies, Ride & Drives, EV showcases, educational programs and community events.
Rallies are social and chapter growth events, simply bringing EV owners together to explore Northern Arizona’s spectacular roads, communities and destinations. Showcase events will give the public an opportunity to see a variety of EVs up close and talk directly with owners. Ride & Drives provide opportunities to test drive an EV without sales pressure.
The chapter will also seek opportunities to partner with local governments, businesses, utilities, universities and colleges, tourism organizations and destinations interested in EV education and charging infrastructure.
With co-chairs representing each of the chapter’s three areas, DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona will be able to develop events and partnerships locally while also bringing the entire Northern Arizona EV community together for larger regional activities.
EVs and Northern Arizona Tourism
Supporting EV tourism will be an important part of DRIVE Electric Arizona’s mission.
Northern Arizona attracts millions of visitors traveling between destinations such as the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona, the Verde Valley and communities along Historic Route 66. As more travelers arrive in electric vehicles, convenient and reliable charging increasingly becomes part of the visitor experience.
DRIVE Electric Arizona will work with communities and tourism destinations to support destination charging, and help demonstrate how EV infrastructure can support local businesses, encourage visitors to spend more time in communities while charging, and make Northern Arizona even easier to explore by EV.
The chapter’s geographic structure is particularly well suited to that mission. Coconino County, Historic Route 66 Communities and the Verde Valley are not isolated EV markets—they are connected travel corridors and destinations. Building relationships among them can help create a more seamless experience for residents and EV travelers alike.
Building a Northern Arizona EV Community
Most importantly, DRIVE Electric Northern Arizona will be a community.
Whether someone has driven electric for years, just purchased their first EV, is considering making the switch, owns a business that serves EV travelers, or simply wants to learn more, DENA will provide a place to connect.
And like DRIVE Electric Arizona itself, the chapter will be powered by volunteers.
