Mesa EV Ride & Drive Sparks Community Excitement
The Mesa EV Ride & Drive on September 20th turned Mesa Community College’s south parking lot into a buzzing hub of electric excitement. From the moment the event kicked off at 8 a.m., guests and families came in with curiosity and energy, eager to see what driving electric was all about. Conversations flowed easily between seasoned EV owners and newcomers, with stories, tips, and laughter filling the space beneath the solar canopies.
By the end of the morning, a total of 83 ride-and-drives had been completed, giving dozens of guests the chance to slip behind the wheel and feel the instant torque and smooth glide of electric power. With 26 unique EVs on hand, there was something for everyone—from sleek sedans and sporty crossovers to rugged trucks and family haulers. Each drive left a smile on faces and sparked new questions, and with owners close by to share real-world experiences, the rides became more than test drives—they became moments of discovery.
This event also included an additional electric experience, courtesy of Magnum Bikes, who brought half a dozen e-bikes for guests to test ride during the event. Riders of all ages enjoyed the smooth pedal-assist and effortless boost that made each lap around the lot a fun and eye-opening glimpse into another side of electrified transportation.
The day captured exactly what National Drive Electric Month is all about: bringing together a community of curious drivers, dedicated owners, and passionate advocates to experience the future of transportation firsthand. It wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of what happens when people take the leap from curiosity to connection—and perhaps soon, to the driver’s seat of their very own EV.
A huge thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers, host, sponsors, and dealership partners who made this event possible, including Mesa Community College, SRP, San Tan Ford, Arrowhead BMW, Arrowhead Cadillac, Courtesy Automotive Group, Rivian Automotive, Bill Luke Tempe, and Magnum Bikes. Their support and dedication brought the event to life and gave our community an unforgettable electric experience.
And a special thank you to SRP for donating Phoenix Rising family four-packs of tickets—congratulations to all the winners!
